This summer, the North Carolina General Assembly created the new Children with Disabilities Scholarship Grant program to provide school choice options for special needs students in North Carolina. This program replaces and expands the Special Needs Tax Credit program from 2011.

The scholarships, available in the spring 2014 semester, will be awarded to reimburse tuition expenses, special education costs and related services for each eligible child who is home schooled or enrolled in a non-public school.
